When friends get together, anything can happen. They meet up, gossip, and introduce each other to new people. And if they're the founders of Engage, they might even start a business.

How we started

A few years back, the founders of Engage had a casual conversation about the happy couples they knew. Was it any coincidence that so many satisfied pairs had met through friends’ introductions? Definitely not.

That discovery led to months of interviews about how people meet online and offline. The team talked to relationship experts and did tons of research, honing in on two clear findings: Traditional online dating felt way too serious, and it missed out on the role a community can play in bringing single friends together.

Our mission: Make meeting people fun again

Engage was founded in 2005. Our goal? Make it as easy to meet new people and explore an attraction online as it is to discover someone new at a trusted friend’s party, out in the real world.

Since then, we’ve created a completely new, naturally-playful, and low-pressure way to meet new people through introductions from your extended network of friends.

On Engage, you get to seek friends’ feedback and advice. Learn what someone’s friends say about them. Let the people who know you best make introductions on your behalf. And best of all, you can feel out an attraction before fast-forwarding to that first exciting real world get-together.
